Carmella worked with my son for about a year. I wish I knew her sooner so that she could have been his SEIT throughout preschool. My son was struggling social emotionally and she helped him tremendously. His behaviors were preventing him from learning and socializing with peers. Carmella’s interventions allowed my child to thrive, make new friends and learn lifelong skills. She not only supported my son, but coached the teacher on how to help my son succeed in the classroom. Carmella also collaborated with the family, teachers and service providers throughout the school year. The consistent communication allowed the entire team to discuss ongoing progress. We no longer need Carmella now that my son is in Kindergarten, but anyone who needs support in the classroom/home should definitely reach out. Our family is so lucky to have worked with Carmella.

Carmella has been such an important part of our son’s development over the past three years! I feel so lucky to have Carmella on my son’s support team. From the beginning she always “got” my son and formed such a close bond with him. She was his very first friend since the early days before he was ready to make friends on his own. Carmella has also collaborated so well with his teachers to implement new strategies to better support him and I know they were very grateful for the tools they learned from her. My son’s school experience has gone so much more smoothly since having Carmella push into his classroom – she is always working towards new skills and finding the best ways to support him through his areas of difficulty (transitions, social interactions, attention/engagement etc). My son is starting a new school (public) this fall and it’s hard to imagine him being in school without her. We will miss her so much!

Carmella worked with our son from age 6-10, and we give her our strongest recommendation. She first worked with our son as a private SEIT for between 2-5 days a week at private school for 2 ½ years, and then worked with him as an SEL skills coach once a week for 2 more years. She is highly skilled at educating children, advising parents, working with schools and other educators, and combines that with deep wells of kindness, patience, and love. She became like a member of the family to all of us (including our other child), a loving adult figure in our son’s life, an advocate for him, and a sounding board and advisor to us as parents. Our son is now thriving, in no small part due to Carmella. We are so grateful that she came into our lives, and any parent whose child could use some extra support would be fortunate to work with Carmella!

I am so grateful to have met Carmella and she has helped my son so much! She immediately developed wonderful rapport with him as well as his school teachers and us! She listened to everyone’s concerns and came up with a plan that advocated for my son’s needs while also being respectful of the school’s needs. She recognized my son’s strengths and talents as well as his weaknesses and genuinely cares about his well being. With Carmella’s help, I have seen such wonderful development in my child. He can now participate in school activities, he has developed friendships, and his impulsive behaviors have decreased. He has learned social and emotional skills that will benefit him for the rest of his life.

Carmella worked as my son’s SEIT during his pre-k school year. He used to call her “my Carmella”! The support she gave to my son, his teachers, and to us as parents was exceptional. Carmella is one of the most devoted, caring, and intelligent educators I’ve ever met. Any family will be lucky to work with her!

My husband and I feel very fortunate that Carmella came into our lives. She has helped our son in such a tremendous way, it is hard to encapsulated in a short paragraph. Carmella has been my sons SEIT in school and at home for the last two years. When she first met J, at age three, he had serious sensory issues, struggled to communicate thoughts and feelings properly, could not engage in age-appropriate activities with classmates and struggled to make proper eye contact. There was a small question about whether or not these issues would be lasting. With Carmella’s help, expertise, care, patience and amazing advice, our son has seen great gains. J has made so much progress in these last two years. We are certain that Carmella played an integral role in making that happen. I would highly recommend Carmella to anyone in need of support for their child.

I love working with Carmella. I am a “regular ed” teacher of three year olds in an early childhood center in lower Westchester. Carmella Crowley has worked in my classroom for many years. Her ability to determine children’s needs and help them is extraordinary. She works tirelessly to integrate the child, her client, socially with their classmates and provides tremendous support to the child academically. She works collaboratively with the classroom teacher to ensure a seamless and complete education for the child. My own teaching practice has been greatly enhanced with Carmella’s presence in my room. Hopefully she will be on my team for many years to come.

Carmella has done an amazing job in supporting the social emotional needs of our two sons. She valued each of our boys as unique and took the time to developmentally appropriately meet their needs. They have responded incredibly well to her warm, caring and positive social emotional interventions. Carmella has a warm and loving disposition in her work with children. She works in a gentle manner with multi-sensory strategies to foster life long social skill development. Carmella went above and beyond to help our boys grow and we will be forever grateful for her incredible support.

Carmella Crowley is a wonderful educator who really “gets” kids. As a former early childhood director, I had the privilege of watching her work with many children in my program and was amazed at the progress they made with her support. As a parent of a child with social anxiety, I hired Carmella to work with my son. She quickly understood his needs and began to help him right away. In just a few sessions, my son gained confidence and began to socialize with friends. Carmella is one of the most talented special educators in the field. She is invested in professional and personal growth, always upping her game and learning new techniques to help children. She spends countless hours on her own time prepping for each session and communicates with parents to help them help their children. Any child who gets to work with Carmella is very lucky!
